The Oaks House System

The House System is a time-honored system dating back hundreds of years with the goal of building community on campus and to invite students and families to love truth, goodness, and beauty in community.

The House System at The Oaks is based on a historic European model and is used commonly in other Classical Christian schools. Families are placed into Houses upon enrollment at The Oaks, and the product is four smaller communities of multi-age and multi-stage relationships ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade and extended to parents and faculty members.

Core goals of the House System are community, mentorship, teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition. Each of our four houses is named after an attribute of God that extends to His people - Truth, Wisdom, Strength, and Fidelity.

House efforts and competitions include:

  • Summer Reading and Quarterly Book Logs for House Points

  • House Tickets as encouragement for growth in the cardinal, theological, and intellectual virtues

  • House Spirit Days and t-shirts

  • Fall House Family Picnics

  • The Summer Games, a field day style competition for the entire family

The House Cup Winner is announced at the end of each year.
